The O&C and Reform managed an excellent 9 boards (8 for the Cup match and one for the friendly). The O&C away from home won the HR Cup contest 8-0 but The Reform turned the tables winning the friendly 1-0.

RAC maintain lead
RAC beat Hurlingham 5.5 – 0.5 away from home to maintain their lead at the top of the Hamilton-Russell league. The Clubs also played five friendly boards which saw RAC triumph by the narrow margin of 3-2.
Brooks win at Lords
The MCC narowly lost out in a home friendly to Brooks 1.5 – 2.5.
Athenaeum enjoy friendly success
The Athenaeum beat the East India / Oriental side 4.5 – 0.5 at home in a friendly.
Chelsea Arts and The Reform share the spoils whilst EIC/ORI edge out The Athenaeum
The Reform and Chelsea Arts shared a hard fought but well-natured draw 2.5-2.5. The Reform were the home side.
Earlier the East India / Oriental Club had won at home to The Athenaeum 4-2
RAC toppled by O&C in friendly
RAC lost 2-3 at home to the Oxford & Cambridge Club this week in a friendly thanks in part to O&C victories from Adrian Bingham and Peter Gant on boards 4 & 5.
Interesting position from the RAC v MCC match
The top board contest from the match earlier this year between the MCC and the RAC saw Adam Eckersley-Waites eventually triumph over Roger Emerson, but not before an unusual opening had led to an exciting position full of tactics. I am grateful to Roger Emerson for his notes, which I have hopefully transcribed without too many errors.
